The start of a new week and a curious looking object for day 25 of 45 Days of Rugby.
This cart-like contraption is housed on the ceiling of the Rugby School Museum.
Known as the “death cart”, it was used to carry or trundle injured players off the field of play and The Close.
Thankfully medical equipment and transportation has come a long way since the 1800s and early 1900s, but one can imagine this cart doing the rounds on and off the field.
To get a closer look at it, visit the Museum - which is only available to visit on selected dates by arrangement or as part of a tour of Rugby School. Find out more about tours of Rugby School, the days and times they operate, and prices here
