2021 promises to be a special year of celebration and reflection for one of my clients as they commemorate their 40th anniversary.
LNBP Community Boating have been introducing community groups and organisations young and old to the delights and benefits of the inland waterways of central England for a full four decades, and show no sign of stopping either.
The non-profit charity operate two canal boats which are moored at and depart from the historic junction of the Oxford and Grand Union Canals at Braunston in Northamptonshire. These boats cater for weekend and midweek residential trips by a wide variety of community groups and organisations who come from all over the UK to sample life on the canals.
I have been involved with LNBP and provided my services since 2015. In that time I have been managing the marketing and public relations activities for the charity and its wonderful team of skippers, members and fundraisers.
Whilst the charity's normal work and group trip bookings were drastically affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, there is optimism that normal service on the water will resume at some point this year and certainly for 2022.
In addition to my regular activities with them, I will be continuing to look back and chart LNBP's rich history in the coming 12 months, as well as bring together other facts and figures, stories, photos and other memorabilia spanning the last 40 years.
Keep an eye on the news and blog section of this website for updates and perhaps also bookmark the LNBP website - www.lnbp.co.uk - as there will be lots of new updates and interesting content on there and on social media during the course of the next 12 months.
